Community Involvement
The mission of the United Methodist Church is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world
As members, we’re sent into the community to serve those in need and to make our community a better place. Pittsboro UMC is involved in many activities to help strengthen our community and help it grow. These activities include:
- CORA Food Pantry - The CORA Food Pantry provides emergency food assistance to Chatham County residents in need.
- Habitat For Humanity - Chatham Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with God and people to build community by constructing houses with the goal of eliminating substandard housing everywhere.
- Pittsboro UMC Preschool Playgroup - Open to all parents, grandparents, caregivers, and children of the area.
- Relay for Life - Relay For Life is a fun-filled overnight event designed to celebrate survivorship and raise money for research and programs of the American Cancer Society.
- First Sunday - Please come and visit us at our First Sunday booth. We have hot dogs, drinks, and lots of fun stuff for the kids!
PUMC is also home to: Alcoholics Anonymous, La Leche League, Weight Watchers, and
