Sunday Mornings at Pittsboro UMC  

8:45 am – Blended Worship

Blended worship sometimes called convergent worship seeks to bring together the richness of the historical styles of worship with today’s technology and contemporary liturgical forms. This service will include such things as:
Power point for announcements, celebrations of particular ministry areas, and acts of worship
Opportunities to interact with others in worship
Hymns from The United Methodist Hymnal, the Faith We Sing, and other musical resources
Various musical offerings to include solos, musicians, and full choir
Use of various Creeds and acts of affirming that which we believe
Readings from various translations of the scriptures
use of contemporary liturgies
Communion the first Sunday of each month
-A special time for the children each Sunday except Communion Sunday
Casual attire – blue jeans welcome
 
 

11:00 am – Formal Worship

Formal worship reaches back to the historical acts of worship in the Methodist/Christian tradition. While not “high church” which makes use of pageantry and procession, this service will be ordered to draw upon historical rituals which have helped anchor us in the Christian faith.
